What makes Texas Black Gold Garlic an Excellent Product

What makes Texas Black Gold Garlic Reign Sustainably Supreme

What makes Texas Black Gold Garlic a superb product? At Texas Black Gold Garlic we only source from Texas farmers, which allows us to more easily visit the farms, ensuring quality and consistency. It also helps us to reduce our carbon footprint as much as possible, something that we take very seriously.

Besides impeccable sourcing, our company operates out of a “food hub” filled with other artisan food companies that care about sustainability as much as quality. The building, as well as the exhaust system, is 100% solar-powered. There is also 100% utilization of garlic in the products. The skins, for example, are dehydrated and added to the Black Garlic Sea Salt. We let nothing go to waste!

Doug Havemann

Although we work with several farms, one of our primary sources is Mesquite Field Farm. We’ve known the extraordinarily hardworking Doug and Melissa Havemann of Mesquite Field Farms for years now. We first met them through a Chef Cooperatives event to help them raise money for their farm. They are a beyond organic grass fed beef and free range chicken farm located outside of San Antonio, Texas. It’s been a great pleasure working with them, not just on garlic, but on projects that help the entire community to benefit and grow.

Texas Black Gold Garlic is made from Texas grown garlic from our farms to your table.

The rich black cloves of Texas Black Gold Garlic are created from white garlic grown right here in Texas thanks to local farmers. The company donates 5 percent of all proceeds generated by the sale of Black Garlic to the Chef Cooperatives initiative, a group of chefs who host and create quarterly farm-to-table dinners to benefit local Texas farmers – one farm at a time.

While the origin of Black Garlic remains an enigma, in Asia, the naturally caramelized form of the bulb is a culinary delicacy that has also been used as an ingredient in Asian medicine for years. Black Garlic is growing steadily in popularity in the U.S. for its opulently layered flavor profile and for its potential health benefits.
