Mardi Gras Cocktails are Popular at these Hotels all Month

With Mardi Gras just around the corner on February 28, the recently opened Margaritaville Resort Biloxi, located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast just 90 miles from New Orleans, is introducing festive new Mardi Gras cocktails that can be enjoyed all February long. Crafted with Margaritaville’s own Paradise Passion Fruit Tequila and Dark Rum, the ‘Surfing in a Hurricane’ cocktail is available at the resort’s LandShark Bar & Grill, Margaritaville Restaurant and Lost Key Bar. This special drink is also easy to make and enjoy at home, with the following recipe:

Mardi Gras cocktails


0.75 oz. Margaritaville Paradise Passion Fruit Tequila

0.50 oz. Margaritaville Paradise Passion Tequila Cruzan 151

0.5 oz. Island Oasis Hurricane Mix

4 oz. Orange Juice

0.5 oz. Fresh Squeezed Lime Juice

0.5 oz. Margaritaville Dark Rum



  1. Fill glass with ice
  2. Add ingredients (minus Dark Rum) to shaker
  3. Shake vigorously
  4. Strain into ice-filled highball glass
  5. Float Dark Rum
  6. Garnish with an orange wheel, cherry and pineapple leaf (optional)


The cocktail is available for purchase for $8.75 with the option to upgrade to a signature Margaritaville® Booze in the Blender souvenir cup for an additional $8.00.

Bourbon Street Blackberry Brut

Mardi Gras cocktails

1.5 oz. silver tequila

2 oz. brut Champagne

7 large blackberries

0.5 oz. agave nectar

0.25 oz. lemon juice

Blackberries for garnish

Mix first 5 ingredients together in a short glass. Add ice and garnish with blackberries.
