Fun Thing to do in San Antonio is take a Tamale Making Class with Cocina Heritage
Here is a fun thing to do in the Alamo City this holiday! As part of a two day event called “UNDER THE MISTLETOE ARTISAN MARKET” Local chef sisters Lupita Rivero & Silvia Alcaraz of Cocina Heritage Catering will lead you into the world of tamale happiness. You will get hands on experience and a wealth of knowledge about these tasty little masa pillows which are all the rage during the holiday season. Just bring yourself and your favorite apron. You’ll take home 6 tamales and will be able to eat a few in class. Fillings offered include meat and vegetarian. The party can continue after the class. You can also take part in a tasting of some new trending flavored organic tequilas of Mexico, Herman Marshall whiskey made in Texas and Seer Sucker Southern Style Gin of San Antonio. The tasting will include tapas from Carmens de la Calle’s kitchen.
This class will touch on the most important – often overlooked – step to making tamales. Join us for sangria and take home your own creation!
