Summer Cocktails get More Interesting with Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s Guide
Everyone needs a summer cocktails quick go-to guide. Labor day may be on the horizon, but there are still plenty of warm days left… and that means cookouts, barbecues and picnics abound.
Nothing rounds out a summer sup more than a tasty cocktail… But for those whose mixology repertoire is defined by “and tonic,” the Mr. Boston Official Bartender’s Guide offers not only cocktail recipes, but also party planning tips and historical facts about drinks.
Here are some cocktails that Mr. Boston suggests to liven up any summer fest! Use your favorite brands or see what Mr. Boston recommends. (And if your shaking or stirring skills are a bit rusty, there are tips for that too!)
Paddington — A delicate sweet combination of citrus and rum!
1 Splash Absinthe
1 1/2 Ounce(s) Light Rum
1/2 Ounce(s) Lillet Blanc
1/2 Ounce(s) Fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 Ounce(s) Fresh lemon juice
1 Teaspoon(s) Orange marmalade
Pour absinthe into chilled cocktail glass, swirl to coat inside, and discard excess. Shake remaining ingredients with ice and strain into glass. Add grapefruit twist. Serve in a Cocktail Glass.
Juniper Breeze — A refreshing blend of orange and gin!
1 1/2 Ounce(s) Gin
3/4 Ounce(s) Fresh grapefruit juice
1/2 Ounce(s) Cranberry Juice
1/2 Ounce(s) Elderflower cordial
1/2 Ounce(s) Fresh Lime Juice
Serve in a Cocktail Glass.
El Nino — A sweet tangy treat perfect for a hot summer’s afternoon.
6 Lime wedges
1 Whole strawberry
3/4 Ounce(s) Simple Syrup
2 Ounce(s) Blanco tequila
5 Drop(s) Rose water
Muddle lime, strawberry, and syrup in mixing glass. Add tequila and rose water and ice. Shake briefly and strain into ice-filled oldfashioned glass. Serve in an Old-Fashioned Glass.

3 Cup Fresh lemon juice
2 Cup Simple Syrup
2 Milliliter Bottles brandy
1 Liter Bottle peach-flavored brandy
2 Cup Light Rum
1 Quart(s) Soda water
1 Pint(s) Cold strong brewed black tea (optional)
Fresh seasonal fruit
Stir in punch bowl. Add large block of ice. Garnish with fruit. Serve in punch cups Serve in a Punch Cup.
