Yard House Energetic Food and Fun Comes to Downtown

Yard House Combines Delicious Scratch Cooking, Huge Selection of Brews & Cocktails and Energetic Vibs in Downtown San Antonio

Yard House, with over 100-250 offerings of imported, craft and specialty ale & lager beers on tap, houses the World’s Largest Selection of craft draft beer. That alone should attract major beer aficionados. Housing 4,000+ gallons of beer at a cool 36-38 degrees so every draught is fresh and perfectly chilled should also help. Having a rotating selection of the most unique and complex local, domestic and imported beers will also be a plus.

So now lets throw in some super amazing hand crafted cocktails like the beautifully layered Malubu Martini with Cruzan black cherry rum, Malibu pineapple, Dekuyper peachtree and island punch.

The classic Mojito is a pretty sassy drink here with some Cruzan citrus rum and muddled mint. This libation comes in traditional, mango, pomegranate or strawberry. Great refresher!

You will find many other drinks at Yard House; red & white wines, skinny drinks at 140-200 calories, mules, champagne and sparkling wine. You can even choose from several different Sakes. So now we have all non-beer lovers covered, right!

You are liking all the drinks but you shouldn’t drink on an empty stomach. Not to worry here cause Yard House has literally 100’s of items on the menu and they are all made from scratch daily. This means everything on the menu is prepared from raw ingredients without any pre-prepared anything.

At Yard House you will find American favorites with a twist using globally inspired flavors. Guests can watch as their food is being prepared in the open kitchen.

Start with an appetizer of Blue Crab Cakes served fresh and tropical with diced mango & papaya in a passion fruit beurre blanc and tomato oil.

Or maybe the Asian taste of Grilled Korean BBQ Beef Short Ribs are more your thing. Served with daikon radish, green onions and spinach, they are sure to please. The rare seared and blackened Ahi Sashimi in a soy vinaigrette with vibrant wasabi and pickled ginger will go wonderfully with one of those Sakes.

Some of my favorite entrees are what are referred to as the House Favorites. Awesomely flavored Orange Peel Chicken comes with some yummy veges like baby corn and bok choy. I like mine with jasmine rice but you can get brown rice if you prefer.

I highly recommend the Nashville Hot Chicken, which is probably my favorite dish. (It reminds me of a new twist to fried chicken and waffles.) Served on sweet potato pancakes this chicken with a spicy kick is in a honey hot sauce over pickles and ranch sauce. The fried sage on top makes a pretty presentation.

Like fish? The Ginger Crusted Norwegian Salmon in a spicy peanut vinaigrette is a great option. And those wasabi mashed potatoes are the bomb y’all.

Global flavors of Asia are also found in the Blackened Swordfish Street Tacos. Mexican flavors are added with the cilantro, cumin crema over the slaw and pico de gallo, mango, papaya and guacamole. Get this one a la carte or as an entree with two tacos, spicy rice and pinto beans. Say Shi Shi!

Yard House also has great steaks, ribs and hamburgers if you are more of a carnivora. Remember there are a 100+ items on the food menu so there is literally something for everyone. And for all you downtown homies and businesses, Yard House has take out.
