Art Show at The Broadway Residences Featuring Works by 20 Artists Benefits AugustHeart – High-Rise Celebrates Art @ The Broadway Series
The Broadway Residences in San Antonio are hosting an Art Show June 9th featuring 20 local San Antonio artists. This event is open to the public and will be held in The Broadway’s newest floor plan, ImperIal II.
AugustHeart is a 501(c)(3) dedicated to preventing sudden cardiac death by providing free heart screenings to students ages 14-18 in San Antonio and surrounding counties.
WHAT: Art Show – Art lovers, friends and guests are invited to sip on complimentary cocktails and indulge in delicious cupcakes while viewing stunning artwork in The Broadway’s newest floor plan, Imperial II. Combining two units into one and spanning across 3,437 square feet on the 10floor, ImperIal II boasts four bedrooms, four baths, two living and dining areas and a separate study. Attendees will have the opportunity to socialize with the artists while admiring the amazing views of the San Antonio skyline. The ImperIal II makes the perfect backdrop for this Art Show. Showcased artists include Bryson Brooks, Thomas Dodd, Lucy Peveto, Jorge Puron, Brook Rosser, Kathy Sosa, Sandra Mack-Valencia and many more. 10% of the sales from the evening will benefit the AugustHeart organization. WHAT ELSE: Thomas Dodd has had numerous exhibitions of his works in many cities in the USA and around the world.
He also has work on permanent exhibition in Paris at the Galerie L’Oeil du Prince, in the US at the New Britain Museum of American Art and in Sicily at the Museo Arte Contemporaneo . He has had recent shows in Germany, Romania, Argentina, New York City, Mexico City, Orlando, Miami, San Antonio, Seattle, Paris and in his hometown of Atlanta. Dodd’s photographs have been featured in many magazines, on book and album covers.
Bryson Brooks has excelled in performance art, appearing in numerous solo and group performance shows throughout the last 15 years, including performances with Snoop Dogg, Lil Flip, Mickey Avalon and others. Awards and accolades include the Art Pace Travel Grant for performance art in Berlin.
Fabian Lainez owns his own design company, “RED&GREY” and in 2010 created TRYFASIC which isa design company that works for private customers in Nize, Cannes, Paris, Jordanie, Moscow and Barcelona. His work has been exhibited in France, Spain, and Texas.
Lucy Peveto’s work was featured at Art to the Power of Ten, sponsored by McNay Contemporary Collectors Forum, McNay Art Museum; Blue Star Contemporary Art Museum Red Dot; Southwest School of Art ROYGBIV (catalogue); AnArte Gallery Touch The Sun, Kiss The Sky (solo); Neiman Marcus, Spring Trends (solo) and in many other shows and galleries across Texas and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Jorge Puron co-founded and coordinated the project ‘Art Garden’ in 2002. Its main objective was the promotion of local and foreign artist that lived in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato. In 2010 he was selected as active member of the municipal council of culture for his hometown of Piedras Negras. Puron has also explored an interest in cinema utilizing his art skills as an art director and set designer for several independent full length films and short films. Puron has worked on numerous commissions for art collectors and participated in over 85 solo and group exhibits. His work is part of private and corporate collections in North America and Europe.
Brook Rosser’s work has been exhibited at: AnArte Gallery, Carrington/Gallagher Gallery, Blue Star, University Autonoma de Mexico, Southwest School of Arts & Crafts, St. Mary’s University, the Lubbock Fine Arts Center, Texas Tech University, The University of Texas at Tyler, and Arizona State Universities Institute for Humanities and Research. Her work has been acquired for both private and corporate collections such as the University Hospital Health System’s Robert B. Green Research Facility in San Antonio, Texas and the Methodist Hospital in San Antonio.
Kathy Sosa’s work has been featured on CNN, in FiberArts Magazine, in Skirt!, San Antonio Woman, Country Lifestyle, Destinations, and is available in San Antonio through AnArte Gallery.
Sandra Mack-Valencia’s work has been exhibited in museums, galleries and institutions in Colombia, Japan, Paris, and the United States. She is a recipient of the Nathalie Angles Award, the Sommerville Arts Prize, and was nominated for the Joan Mitchell Foundation Painters and Sculptors Grant. Her work was selected as part of the (S) Files Biennial at El Museo del Barrio in New York. Sandra was chosen as one of the Outstanding Antioqueños in the World, and her art practice was featured in a documentary that aired at her native city.
