Together this team of experts will ensure your visit will be unlike any other you will experience in this area of Dallas.
Priding themselves with one of the best margaritas around, the Komali Margarita takes Herradura Reposado, Cointreau, prickly pear puree, mango, and fresh lime juice to a standard recognized by Texas Monthly Magazine!
The Mango Machismo is a personal favorite with Partida Reposado infused in house with mango, habanero and serrano peppers, Cointreau, and lime. A fresh and spicy twist that’s unique to Leann’s bartending imagination.
Chef Geovanny Arredondo is a culinary genius and is privileged to have the freedom to bring traditional Mexican heritage to a modern menu. One of my favorite items are the Pork Belly Tacos. House made mole tortillas covered in tender pork belly with pickled red onions, queso fresco, and chile-de-arbol salsa will certainly have you reaching for more than just one! If this isn’t love at first bite, I don’t know what is.
Something I always gravitate towards is an awesome ceviche and it was just my luck that Komali brought their A game. The Cheviche Mixto was a delightful blend of white prawns, Mahi-Mahi, and scallops with tomato, red onion, avocado, cucumber, and cilantro. One of the best apps ever and so incredibly light and fresh. We literally fought over the last bite!
One of my favorite things about Komali is their undeniable tradition to authentic Mexican dishes and this couldn’t be more apparent than with the Cochinita Pibil. Served in banana leaves, tender braised pork on the bone is presented with marbled potatoes and red onions with a side of gravy that when poured over the dish makes for a succulent feast that can easily feed two. Just because it can feed two doesn’t mean it will! One taste of this, mixed with the side of rice, will have you wondering why you haven’t been eating this dish your entire life! In all honesty, I would have never ordered this off the menu due to my own ignorance and can say without a doubt it’s one of the best things I’ve eaten…. ever. I swear you won’t have orders’ remorse.
As if I wasn’t captivated enough with the previous dish, I was brought the Mahi-Mahi al Pastor. I’ll be the first to say that I’m not easily impressed when it comes to seafood options but this was beyond anything I could have ever expected. A guajilla-pineapple marinade that is out of this world amazing, wrapped in leeks and served with rice, grilled pineapple, and seasonal veggies. I have recommended this dish to literally everyone I know and we have all fallen in love!
I think I’m with most folks when I say I crave a perfectly cooked scallop and on my visit I didn’t second guess myself when I ordered the Pan Seared Scallops. Beautifully prepared with crispy masa-potato dumplings, wilted arugula, and a tangerine-mango salsa. This plate is no joke y’all! Everyone at the table wanted a taste and although I did allow it, I was hesitant! I wanted every bite all to myself.
As with any good meal you stuff yourself to the max and pray the button on your pants doesn’t pop off before you get home because there’s always room for dessert! Who can pass up Churros with Hot Chocolate? Made in house, these crispy sugar dusted churros are wonderfully paired with a Mexican hot chocolate and luckily there’s enough to share amongst the table if you choose.
My personal favorite was the Mexican Bread Pudding because it’s served warm and with a coconut ice cream! A combination bite is like a vacation in your mouth! Where am I? At the beach? Nope, at Komali having the best dessert ever!
