The Rustic free concert and party begin at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2
The Rustic thinks the 180th anniversary of Texas independence merits an epic celebration, and that’s exactly what they have planned for this Wednesday, March 2.
The festivities begin at 4 p.m. with a concert by singer-songwriter Justin Myers, cornhole games and a photobooth to capture all the fun. And at 8:30 p.m., Austin-based band Shinyribs makes its return to The Rustic for a headline performance worthy of the great State of Texas.
Formed in 2007 as a solo project by Gourds co-founder Kevin Russell, Shinyribs later blossomed into a full all-country band featuring Gourds drummer Keith Langford along with bassist Jeff Brown and pianist Winfield Cheek. Their sound has been described as a quirky mix of soul, country, blues and rock.
“We invite everyone who’s proud to be a Texan – whether you were born here or got here as quick as you could – to join us at The Rustic for an afternoon and evening of great food, cool drinks and outstanding live music,” said Kyle Noonan, co-founder and owner of FreeRange Concepts, creator of The Rustic. “Shinyribs put on a heck of a show the last time they were here, and I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us this time.”
Admission is free and all ages are welcome. Fashion brand Tumbleweed TexStyles will also be onsite selling Texas-inspired gear.
With its casual atmosphere, live musical acts and unique, full-service dining experience featuring farm-fresh, homestyle dishes and a Texas-sized selection of wines, spirits and 40 beers on tap, The Rustic has carved a distinctive niche among Dallas restaurants. The concept is the brainchild of Noonan, Josh Sepkowitz and Texas country artist Pat Green, whose love of the outdoors and live music helped bring The Rustic to life. The result is a fun and relaxing concert and dining experience from a phenomenal patio, all under the big Texas sky.
The Rustic is located at 3656 Howell Street in Uptown Dallas.
