Alamo Kiwanis Club Raises Funds for Local Children Charities through Art



WHAT:                Alamo Kiwanis Club hosts its 53rd season of Western & Heritage Art Show


WHO:                   Representatives from the Alamo Kiwanis Club and local artists in the Southwest region


WHEN:                 Friday, January 22, 2016 at 10 a.m.


Where:                 The LDR, Convention Center, 200 East Market St., San Antonio, TX 78205


WHY:                    Alamo Kiwanis, a club made up of approximately 100 members organized to help local children’s charities, announces its 53rd season of the Western Heritage & Art Show. The event features exclusive, original artwork by artists throughout the Southwest region, in effort to raise donations for children’s charities around San Antonio.


This event, along with Fiesta Noche del Rio, is the two main events that raise the most monies for deserving children’s charities in San Antonio. Alamo Kiwanis Club has raised over $2.75 million to local charities such as Kinetic Kids, Any Baby Can, The Children’s Shelter and many more. The Western & Heritage Art Show will also feature catering by The RK Group, a casino party and raffle, live music and a brief performance from our Fiesta Noche del Rio dancers showcasing their upcoming season. Tickets for The Western & Heritage Art Show are on sale now at www.kiwanisartshow.com.


About Alamo Kiwanis Club

Founded in 1947, the Alamo Kiwanis Club is a local organization built to help children’s charities through two major fundraisers – The Western & Heritage Art Show and Fiesta Noche del Rio. Fiesta Noche del Rio is the oldest outdoor dance performance in the United States presented at the historic Arneson River Theatre on the San Antonio Riverwalk, held mid-May through mid-August each year.
