Paciugo for Gelato or Coffee?

Paciugo Authentic Italian Gelato + Rich Italian Coffee = the Best of Both Worlds

As I have said before, if you want a heavenly gelato experience, go the Paciugo. They have so many flavors to choose from it will make your head swim. If you have a certain flavor in mind, call ahead and let them know. They will make it for you! Some of their customer favorites stay on the menu all the time, other flavors rotate depending on customer or the owners whim. When I stopped in today, they had a flavor called Black Pepper & Olive Oil in the freezer case. OK yeah, I had to try it! I mean who wouldn’t give this interesting flavor a go? And it was really pretty good with the black pepper peeking through the creamy, sweet goodness of the olive oil gelato. So you never know what you will find when you stop in.

But Paciugo isn’t just about gelato and their millions of flavors. Did you know they are also an Italian Caffè Bar? Here you can also get an incredible cup of espresso, rich and bold to get you through the day. The espresso also comes in decaf if you want the robust flavor without the caffeine kick. Or get an aromatic brew like a full-bodied Vienna roast (also comes in decaf) or a lighter blend to give you your bump in the morning. In addition, they have all the espresso drinks like Cappuccino and Latte that we have all come to love.

With great gelato and rich robust coffee, everything is all good with the world, am I right?! Well, hold on cause it gets even better. Let’s say you want to try some of this fine Italian gelato but you also want some of that wonderful coffee I just mentioned. Of course you could do them separately, or, (now I’m getting to the good part) you can combine them. Try an Affogato, a cup of three (I did two) scoops of your favorite flavors of gelato with a shot of espresso poured over them and topped off with whipped cream. You can also use cioccolata (hot chocolate) if you prefer. Indulge in smooth, full-flavored gelato melting under rich espresso. I know, right!

Another crowd pleaser during the colder weather is the Gelatte, a scoop of your favorite gelato flavor, a little milk, and espresso all steamed together. This is a latte on steroids so to speak. I used Amaretto Chocolate for mine and it was incredible! Sprinkle a little cocoa or cinnamon on top and I’m telling you, you’ll be back for another one tomorrow and the next day and…. I think you get my point.

Steven is usually the man behind the counter and also the General Manager/barista and he will make sure you get just what you are looking for. I’m telling you, he knows his stuff, so if you have questions, just ask him.

Paciugo still makes their gelati and sorbetti the traditional Italian way, with the freshest fruits and all-natural ingredients. The result is a light, unbelievable smooth frozen dessert with 70% less fat than ice cream. In addition to their milk-based flavors, they have water-based (sorbetti), soy-based, and No Sugar Added flavors from which to choose.More flavor. Less fat. Perfetto!
