Local Bakery & Cafe to Open in December
The Bread Box, the wholesale bakery that supplies bread to the top restaurants in the city is opening a bakery and cafe the first week in December. Everything here will be baked on-site, from scratch, every day using only the freshest local ingredients.
I was first introduced to these wonderful breads while attending the Gaucho Gourmet Saturday markets. They would always show up with their breads, loaves, baguettes and muffins still warm from the oven. If you didn’t arrive early, you would usually miss out because their products sold out quickly.
It didn’t take long for word to get out, and now Lucas and Tina Kent, owners of the Bread Box are opening a bakery and cafe at Artisan Alley. Anyone who loves fresh baked bread and stellar soups, sandwiches and desserts should be keeping an eye out for their grand opening.
There is a seasonal lunch menu including a to-die-for pressed focaccia sandwich composed of roasted turkey breast, roasted shallot aioli, butternut squash, kale, dates, raisins, pecans and triple cream brie. You don’t want to miss this one while it is on the menu!
They have equally creative and delicious soups, salads and desserts on the menu. They will also have gluten-free options so anyone who likes fresh bread will be able to indulge.
Just look at some of the items to be featured! Yeah, you know you can’t wait for it to open!
