Paciugo Serves Up Hand-Made Delicious Italian Gelato & Sorbets Everyday
Paciugo Gelato is a dessert & coffee shop for all seasons
You can always make room for gelato and when it’s Paciugo’s gelato, you will go out of your way to make room. With its roots from Italy, Paciugo brings authentic Italian gelato to the streets of San Antonio.
This little gelato shop is located in Lincoln Heights, a trendy, upscale area of San Antonio. The General Manager of the shop, Steven, knows everything about Paciugo’s products which include regular gelato, sorbets, soy based gelato and sugar-free options. They also offer gelato inspired shakes, smoothies, iced coffees, Gelattes® and artisanal favorites like affogato and creamy Belgian hot chocolate to compliment their menu.
Paciugo has a zillion flavors of gelato, some which are customer favorites and are always available and many of which change weekly. You can also request a favorite flavor you have a hankering for like the Crème Brûlée flavor you had in Rome 5 years ago. Just ask them and they will make it up for you.
Every flavor they have is absolutely delicious. I know because I sampled everything in the display case. I was trying to choose three flavors to have packed up to take home and that was quite a job. You try choosing three favorites out of 20+ awesome flavors. Each time I tried a new one, it was better than the last. Yeah, that was quite a dilemma.
Each batch of gelato and sorbetto is hand-made fresh every day the traditional Italian way. They use the freshest fruits and all-natural ingredients. Their gelato is made from fresh whole milk and has typically 70% less fat than traditional ice cream.
Again Steve was very helpful in describing each taste. I also found that he was a master gelato artist. The could put together a three, four or five cone or cup combo that was a mosaic of colors and flavors. They also have Paciugo packs which you can get to take home. The packs come in Piccolo (up to 3 flavors), Medio (up to 4 flavors) and Grande (up to five flavors).
For a different treat get one of their luscious and beautiful Gelato Macaron Sandwiches. These would also be great for birthday parties, weddings, baby showers or whenever you need a dessert and want to do something different from the usual cake. The color and flavor combinations are literally endless and will fit any party menu or color scheme.
And don’t leave Paciugo without trying one of their coffees. They serve only the very best Latte, Cappuccino, Espresso and Italian roast coffee. They also have some specialty coffee drinks you won’t find anywhere else. The Affogato is three scoops of velvety gelato melting in espresso, topped with whipped cream. Or the Gelato Shake, gelato blended with espresso. But I recommend the Gelatte for a real taste treat. The Paciugo Gelatte is a traditional hot latte, steamed with their delicious gelato. Yes, coffee and gelato, the best of both worlds, right!
In addition to their shop in Lincoln Heights, Paciugo also has a food truck so you just might spot them around town. If so, be sure to stop by to get you a cone. But a word of caution, you will get hooked! Paciugo also can cater your party or event.
