Krause’s Cafe & Biergarten Celebrates Texas Independence Day with Armadillo Races Starting March 6th

 

 

Krause’s Cafe & Biergarten. the New Braunfels-based café will host a series of armadillo races on March 6, April 3 and May 1.

WHAT:

Krause’s Café & Biergarten is excited to welcome back and announce this year’s series of Armadillo Races beginning on March 6 to celebrate Texas Independence Day (March 2). With the armadillo being the official small mammal of Texas, join Krause’s Cafe for  family-friendly and professionally monitored races. There will be a set of two races every 30 minutes for those interested in participating. Armadillo handlers will be onsite to help participants set up with gloves and picking an armadillo. In between races, the handlers will also speak on armadillo education and answer any armadillo related questions.

Drink specials at Krause’s Cafe during the races will feature a variety of Lone Star Brewing products, including Lone Star Lager, Lone Star Light and Lone Star’s Rio Jade Mexican Lager. There will also be “Riocheladas” available, a special Michelada featuring Rio Jade. Tickets are $5 for spectators and participants 12 and older, and can be purchased online through the Eventbrite link here.
