St. Anthony Hotel is Housing a unique exhibition of 14 pieces inspired by the 1956 American epic Western drama, “Giant.”
Art exhibition featuring works inspired by the 1956 American epic Western drama, “Giant.” The collection of 14 pieces by Miles Glynn are inspired by the larger-than-life characters both in front of the camera and off-screen as well.
Miles Glynn is an American mixed-media artist who lives and works in Bozeman, Mont.. He grew up the son of a U.S. Army photojournalist and his father’s influence taught him to see life in frames and compositions. It also sparked an affinity for going to great lengths to create intriguing imagery that tells compelling stories. Glynn’s mixed-media works are at once familiar yet curious, striking yet soothing. For this show, “Giants,” he combined materials such as diamond dust suspended in resin with a unique palette to express the personalities and activities of the actors while on set filming the 1956 movie near Marfa, Texas.
“One thing that developed organically in this show, and not really intentionally, is that the majority of the imagery is of behind-the-scenes and/or promotional material, and not direct scenes from the movie,” said Glynn. “This movie, in particular, had a huge amount of behind-the-scenes photos taken and those are the ones I’ve gravitated toward for this show.”
