Cocktails to Ease the Pain of Tax Day

The tax man cometh and his hand is always out. We don’t know about you, but we know we’d be a lot happier to see him if that hand held a cocktail. Whether April 15th gives you a reason to celebrate as you figure out ways to spend the cash from your return, or the makings of a migraine as you prepare to write a big check, we have a cocktail for you!

Taxa-tini – When the IRS gives you lemons, make this cocktail!

Tax tini

1 ½ oz. Sobieski vodka
½ oz. orange liqueur
¾ oz. freshly-squeezed lemon juice
1 teaspoon superfine sugar
Twisted lemon peel for garnish

Add Sobieski Vodka, orange liqueur and lemon juice in a shaker with ice. Shake and serve in a chilled
sugar rimmed glass, garnished with a lemon peel.

The Procrastinator – If you are standing in line at the post office at midnight – this cocktail tastes great
in a to-go cup!

CAMUS Tax
1 ½ oz. CAMUS VSOP Elegance Cognac
¾ oz. ruby port
¾ oz. dry vermouth
Lemon twist for garnish
Combine ingredients over ice and stir. Strain into a coupe glass and garnish with a lemon twist.

The Standard Deduction – Look at it this way… You have 364 days until you have to file again!

Lucid Tax
1 oz. Lucid Absinthe
1 oz. coffee liqueur
1 oz. crème liqueur

In a rocks glass combine Lucid Absinthe, coffee liqueur and crème liqueur and serve.
