Fresh Summer Bounty Celebrated at Wedding Oak Vintner Dinner
Wedding Oak Winery is having a Vintner Dinner celebrating fresh summer bounty at Das Peach Haus in Fredericksburg, Texas on August 24th, 2018 and you are invited.
In Oct 2011, viticulturist Mike McHenry and a group of friends began construction on Wedding Oak Winery with the passion to bring the burgeoning Texas wine industry to the heart of small town Texas. We opened our historic 1926 tasting room and 10,000 case winery, located at the intersection of U.S. Highway 190 and State Highway 16, on June 1, 2012. We are proud to be a central part of the renaissance of San Saba.
Just as the casual beauty, friendly personalities and relaxing hospitality defines small town Texas, Wedding Oak Winery is committed to making Texas wines that celebrate our Texas terroir and wine-growing conditions. Our Texas-born winemaker artfully makes our wines with grapes grown in our own estate vineyards, as well winery-managed Texas Hill Country vineyards and Texas High Planes vineyards. We’re proud to bring you Texas wines of distinction suitable for celebrations and every-day drinking.
Menu for this Vintner Dinner:
- Strawberry Rhubarb Bruschetta w/Goat Milk Cheddar & the 2017 Rose de Dolcetto
Rose de Dolcetto 2016
Texas High Plains Dry Rose – This wine is made with 100% Texas-grown Dolcetto grapes. There is aromas of fresh red fruits with peppery undertones, and a hint of minerality on the nose; notes of cranberry and fresh picked strawberry on the mid pallet; with a soft supple finish.
- Warm Clam Salad w/Fresh Herbs and Tomatoes & 2016 Viognier
Viognier 2016 High Valley Vineyards
Dry Estate-Grown White Wine from High Valley Vineyards – Our leaner Viognier has a liveliness on the palate that compliments characters of honeyed melon, apple, and white flowers. Produced from estate-grown grapes near our winery in San Saba, this is a lovely wine that would be welcomed at any dinner table.
- Pomegranate & Mango Chipotle Roasted Lamb & 2015 Regency Bridge
Regency Bridge 2015
Rioja-style blend of grapes yielding an intensely colored wine with layers of brambles, red tree fruit including cherry and plum. The big tannins will soften with aging.
- Caramel Apple Tart & 2015 Reconcilable Differences
Reconcilable Differences 2015
A 100% Texas grown light bodied and slightly sweet red wine.
