Celebrate Tequila Day in the Famous Mariachi Bar in Downtown

Celebrate Tequila Day at the Mariachi Bar in Historic Market Square

It is only fitting that San Antonio should celebrate tequila day at this lively bar, a festive place to celebrate the tradition of music that has filled historic Market Square for decades.

Mariachi Bar opened in 1989 to create a space for music and celebration of Mexican culture and heritage. Every detail reflects our objective, from the hand-wrought ironwork and spectacular carved bar to the city’s best musicians and our amazing selection of tequilas, beers, margaritas and handcrafted cócteles.

La Familia Cortez Restaurants

A Mexican immigrant from Guadalajara who proudly proclaimed, “I’m an American by choice, not by chance,” Pedro strongly believed in the need to preserve San Antonio’s Mexican culture, already embodied by the city’s color, passion, hospitality and of course, its cuisine. His vision played a huge role in the revitalization of the restaurants’ home, El Mercado (Historic Market Square). Once considered a blighted area of San Antonio, Pedro worked to help revitalize the area, now one of the most popular tourist destinations in San Antonio.

La Familia Cortez Restaurants include: Mi Tierra Café y Panadería, La Margarita Restaurant & Oyster Bar, Restaurante Pico de Gallo, Viva Villa Taqueria and Mariachi Bar.
