Krause’s Café & Biergarten is hosting a variety of spring events throughout April including the first ‘Spring Fashion Plate,’ a runway fashion show and luncheon with a floral themed menu, in partnership with the New Braunfels Downtown Association. Krause’s Café will also host more specialty dinners, featuring Prisoner Wine Company as well as Los Alamos Wine. The outdoor patio section of the biergarten will also get a special dog take over and rescue awareness by Weimaraner Rescue of Texas. Thursday, April 5
New Braunfels Downtown Association, Krause’s Café and Huisache Grill present Spring Fashion Plate: a downtown lunch and style show collaboration. Chef Jeremy ‘Boomer’ Acuna of Krause’s Café & Biergarten has curated a special garden-themed, wine-pairing menu for the luncheon. Guests will enjoy items like the Beet “Carpaccio”, a golden and red beet salad with brined pickled carrot, candied pine nuts and parsley vinaigrette and Chicken Napoleon, ginger au grautin potatoes topped with Madeline yellow squash, zucchini and carrot served with Buerre Blanc sauce.
Mimosas and dessert by Huisache Grill will follow the lunch. The event begins at 11:30 a.m. and includes a runway show flaunting local downtown New Braunfels fashion from Red Stag, La Belle Vie, Alibi Boutique, River Rose, and Celebrations. Local celebrity and San Antonio Express-News Fashion/Pop Culture writer, Michael Quintanilla, will emcee the event. The Fashion Plate will close with a sidewalk sale from local shops and swag bags, makeovers and more will be available. Tickets are $35 each and can be purchased only in-person at Krause’s Cafe. Tickets purchased in quantities of eight (8) will reserve a table – all else is open seating.
Saturday, April 7
National Beer Day! What better way to celebrate than by trying over 70 beers on tap at the biergarten? Plus, Krause’s Café & Biergarten is excited to host Weimaraner Rescue of Texas for Weimar-Weizen, a fun filled day with food, beer, dog-friendly games and an overall dedication to raising awareness for the weimaraner dog breed. During the event, guests can apply to adopt a weimarener and receive more information on how to become a Weimaraner Rescue of Texas volunteer. Activities will begin at 3 p.m on the outdoor patio section of the biergarten.
Tuesday, April 10
Krause’s Cafe & Biergarten is teaming up with California-based The Prisoner Wine Company to host a specialty wine paired dinner on Tuesday, April 10 at 6:30 p.m. The vino-centric event will highlight various dishes created by Chef “Boomer” Acuna along with paired specialty wine from The Prisoner Wine Company. The restaurant will have a prix fixe four-course menu featuring German and South Texas inspired dishes. The menu includes Braised Beef Cheek Ravioli, Peruvian Halibut Crudo, Whole Roasted Beef Loin, and more. Each dish is paired with a complimentary wine such as Cuttings Cabernet, Saldo Zinfandel, and The Prisoner Red Blend. Krause’s Cafe & Biergarten is partnering with Los Alamos Wine to host a specialty Argentinian wine paired dinner on Tuesday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m. The vino-centric event will highlight various dishes created by Chef “Boomer” Acuna including an open fire lamb roast. Each course will be specialty paired with paired Argentinian wine and cocktails. The restaurant will have a prix fixe four-course menu to be announced.
