Cuisine Choices Fit Every Palate During Restaurant Week in San Antonio
Cuisine choices are endless and we can’t help but start preparing our lists of restaurants we’ve been dying to try. With only 13 days to indulge in as many delicious dishes as possible and with over 80 restaurants participating in this year’s event, it’s hard to narrow down where to go. We’ve rounded up some of the top places to dine at this Restaurant Week.
Biga on the Banks

Act like a tourist in your own city at nationally-renowned Biga on the Banks. Biga on the Banks showcases the creative cuisine of chef/owner, Bruce Auden, who catapulted to the top of the city’s dining scene when he arrived here in the mid-1980s. Biga’s atmosphere and level of service combined with the delightful and often whimsical dishes to create one of San Antonio’s most beloved restaurants. Choose your own adventure with their Restaurant Week menu. With at least three different and unique options for each course, you can enjoy dishes like beef tartar, pan seared scallops, and chocolate bourbon pecan pie.

There is nothing basic about this pizza. With housemade coppa, prosciutto, pepperoni among other meats, along with housemade cheeses and sauces and vegetables purchased from local farmers, a pizza fresh from the fire at Il Forno will change the way you think about the humble pie. Come for the pizza, but save room for the antipasto and local beer and wine. With a casual and warm ambience and food this good, this hotspot will quickly make you a regular. Enjoy a romaine salad with and spicy parmesan dressing, an 8” “Seasonal” pizza, and decadent chocolate mousse to end your meal.

Cozy yourself up a nice bento box with an assortment of Kimura’s signature dishes. Kimura is San Antonio’s premier izakaya, the Japanese equivalent to a pub or speakeasy. It features a variety of authentic Japanese cuisine in the heart of downtown San Antonio. When guests step into the intimate spot, they are transported to a cozy yet urban-feeling oasis with a modern interior and clean, balanced lines. Kimura prides itself in only serving fare made with the freshest ingredients. Kimura will be serving their new bento boxes which will feature koji marinated chicken over rice, charred shishito peppers, diakon azasuke, wakame salad, and cucumber sunomono.

Experience dining like you’ve never had before at Restaurant Gwendolyn. Step back to a time when local, seasonal and sustainable ingredients were the only way of life. Centered around the idea of only utilizing ingredients and techniques used before the start of the Industrial Revolution, Restaurant Gwendolyn brings the simple, old-world style to the modern day. Dine on a Texas Cowboy inspired menu featuring dishes like borracho bean soup and mesquite grilled quail. Normally, this restaurant is the kind of place people frequent for special occasions, but with Restaurant Week prices, this is surely a must-visit.

San Antonio Restaurants are on display showcasing the finest Alamo City cuisine January 15-27 and the food choices are endless. Restaurants will offer special three-course prix-fixe menus for lunch and dinner throughout the city! Make your reservations and experience SARW lunch and dinner with two tiers to choose from:
Tier 1: $15 lunch and $35 dinner
Tier 2: $10 lunch and $25 dinner
Reservations are not required to participate – but, are strongly encouraged – and can be booked directly with restaurants. Your dining experience will be a charitable one. With each meal ordered, restaurants will donate $1 for lunch and $2 for dinner to Culinaria and the programs it supports. Details on all of the participating restaurants are posted regularly!
