New Documentary True Story of a Woman with a Broken Heart, and the Service Dog Who Saved Her

Gravitas Ventures and Long Haul Films proudly present the remarkable new documentary true story of a woman with a broken heart, and the service dog who saved her.

Marty had a heart condition that used to make her faint every day. When she was partnered with Adele, one of the world’s first cardiac alert service dogs (featured previously in People Magazine), she stopped fainting. They were the perfect team. They were soulmates. Adele could literally sense the beating of Marty’s heart. With Adele by her side, Marty went from being unable to walk around the block without passing out, to leading an adventurous, joy-filled life as a wife and mother.

But nothing can last forever, and as the day grew nearer that Adele would have to stop working, Marty knew she would have to figure out how to let go of her best friend and find a new partner who could take over the job of protecting her heart.

Director Melissa Dowler was there to document Marty’s experience, as she learns to work with a new service dog, while letting Adele transition into retirement, all while wondering if life will ever be the same again.
