Forty years ago (in 1977), Jimmy Buffett’s hit song “Margaritaville” made its debut. Since that time, Margaritaville has evolved into the quintessential lifestyle brand with a vast portfolio of restaurants, hotels, resorts, vacation ownership options, consumer products, a radio station on SiriusXM®, casinos and more.
This November, celebrating 40 years in a Margaritaville state of mind, the company has unveiled a $1,977 Ruby Margarita (that’s right, because rubies are the traditional 40th anniversary gift). The drink is served in a party-sized batch that’s ideal for sharing with up to eight friends. The best part? It comes with a Margaritaville Frozen Concoction Maker®, Margaritaville Beverage Dispenser, Margaritaville Party Tub and eightMargaritaville Margarita Glasses, all of which you can take home.
The $1,977 Ruby Margarita is available during the anniversary weekend celebration from November 17-19 exclusively at JWB Prime Steak and Seafood, named after James William Buffett himself, located at Margaritaville Hollywood Beach Resort in South Florida.
For those looking to celebrate with a more affordable option, a $19.77 version of the Ruby Margarita is available throughout the month of November at 30+ Margaritaville restaurant locations around the world, served in a souvenir Margaritaville® blender cup. This special signature drink is easy to make and enjoy at home, using the following recipe:
- 1.5 oz. Margaritaville Gold Tequila
- 0.75 oz. Cointreau Orange Liquor
- 3 oz. Margaritaville Margarita Mix
- 0.75 oz. Raspberry Purée
Directions: Add all ingredients to a mixing glass and shake. Pour into an ice-filled glass. Garnish with ruby red sugar and a lime wheel. Cheers!
