SACC Announced Tio Mio as The Signature Cocktail for the San Antonio Cocktail Conference 2018
SACC released its Signature Cocktail for 2018, Tio Mio, to the masses on Sept 6th at Plaza de Armas Gallery located at 115 Plaza de Armas in San Antonio.
The official cocktail announcement took place in collaboration with the World Heritage Festival. SACC unveiled its 2018 Signature Cocktail at Entre La Sombra: Life Along the Missions, Opening Reception at Plaza de Armas Gallery, Wednesday, September 6, 6-9pm
. The exhibit showcased the intangible culture of our San Antonio Missions in a tangible way through contemporary artists and the SACC Signature Cocktail. Attendees were the first to sample what SACC Executive Director, Cathy Siegel, calls “a distinguished twist on a familiar old friend.” San Antonio Cocktail Conference
, a Houston Street Charities event, has been hailed as “the future of cocktails,” and one of the “best cocktail festivals” by Fodor’s Travel.
SACC was founded by nationally renowned chef, Mark Bohanan, as a way to leave a lasting legacy for the city of San Antonio, and as a way to give back in a big way to children’s charities. Seven years since the first event, the conference now spans five days in locations throughout the city. SACC has grown to become a resource in the cocktail world for industry professionals and home bartenders alike. And the release of the Signature Cocktail has garnered a cult following that is already grabbing attention months before the conference.

Siegel said this year’s cocktail pays tribute to the history of the city, and it will be popping up at events related to both the World Heritage Festival and SA300 celebrations. The exhibit opening on September 6 is free and open to the public, and it will be the first opportunity to experience the official first sips of this mysterious stranger poised to set the tone of this year’s San Antonio Cocktail Conference.

Dash of angostura bitters
Dash of chocolate bitters
2 oz Herradura Anejo tequila
Sitr and add ice to stir and chill
Garnish with large grapefruit zest
