Pinch Boil House and Bia Bar Focuses on Traditional Street Food, Seafood Boils and Beer
Pinch Boil House and Bia Bar, a new Southeast Asian concept developed by old pals Sean Wen and Andrew Ho, is set to open its doors in San Antonio on Friday, September 8, 2017 to the public for their soft opening. Inspired by the idea of family-style food and a relaxed atmosphere, Pinch will be a casual local spot for friends and family to enjoy traditional seafood boils, street food, and beer.
“Being able to tell a story about my culture has always been important to me and food just happened to be the vehicle that allowed me to best narrate that story,” said Wen, co-owner of Pinch Boil House and Bia Bar. “Whether it’s sharing a fun, quirky beer with a loved one, or cracking open spicy crawfish with best friends, Pinch will give that unique experience to all of our guests. We’re thrilled to bring our food, culture, and vibe into San Antonio’s burgeoning food scene!”
Pinch’s food menu incorporates inspiration that is drawn from Wen’s and Ho’s Southeast Asian culture and Houston upbringing. The ingredients are classically Vietnamese and Thai, but also have roots from the Gulf Coast. The menu features items such as seafood boils of shrimp, crab, and seasonal crawfish smothered in Pinch’s signature garlic butter, Vietnamese style Banh Mi’s, and more.
The restaurant also includes a Bia Bar (‘bia’ means ‘beer’ in Vietnamese) that focuses on showcasing a variety of unique Southeast Asian-inspired beers. The beer list is comprised of beers containing Southeast Asian ingredients — such a lemongrass, basil and/or other similar aromatics — or beers that pair well with classic Southeast Asian flavors.
Pinch Boil House and Bia Bar will open at 124 N. Main Ave., San Antonio, TX, 78205. The restaurant’s hours of operations will be Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Free garage parking after 6p.m. For more information, please visit pinchboilhouse.com or follow along on Instagram at @PinchBoilHouse.
