Cedar Ridge Whiskey Makes its Way to the Lone Star State

Cedar Ridge Whiskey, a great craft whiskey, is launching in Texas next week though Twin Liquors which has already committed to selling Cedar Ridge in all of their roughly 80 stores state-wide. Cedar Ridge was just named the best distillery in its state by Esquire magazine (Balcones won for Texas, of course!).

  • Iowa is corn country, so Cedar Ridge is particularly known for its Bourbon, which they make from corn grown on their family farm.
  • Cedar Ridge was named the American Distilling Institute’s 2017 “Distillery of the Year,” largely for being one of the few “grain-to-glass” distilleries in America:  of our country’s 1,300 “craft” distilleries, only about 450 are commercial, and of those only 2-dozen are grain-to-glass, meaning that they start from grain rather than just buying and bottling already-made whiskeys.

In addition to Bourbon, Cedar Ridge makes Wheat, Single Malt, and Malted Rye whiskeys.

For the best in bourbon, go straight to the heart of corn country – crafted of nearly 75% corn and distilled to a higher proof, resulting in a more clean, approachable sipping whiskey. This is the best of the Midwest in a bottle! 750 ml. 80 proof.

Technically a single malt and the softest of our whiskeys. This 100% winter wheat whiskey is a delicate yet flavorful spirit, perfect for cocktails. 750 ml. 80 proof.

If it has to be whiskey, make it a handcrafted single malt. The 2015 adoption of our unique Solera system marries the best characteristics of each single-barrel to achieve a depth of flavor and complexity that is not possible with a single barrel system alone. 750 ml. 80 proof.

Cedar Ridge Malted Rye Whiskey is making history since its late 2014 release! As opposed to other rye whiskeys, which are quite common, Cedar Ridge uses malted rye in its grain bill. To malt, the rye grains are soaked in water to germinate, then given a blast of hot air. Malting the rye generates an enzyme that is naturally helpful with the mashing process and adds weight and an extraordinarily complex flavor profile of toast and biscuit to the whiskey. 750 ml. 86 proof.

Cedar Ridge Whiskey

Cedar Ridge whiskey is for the explorers, aficionados, and connoisseurs that want more authenticity and a personal-human connection when it comes to their whiskey drinking experience. Cedar Ridge, Iowa’s first distillery brings you the best Midwest whiskey from America’s beloved grain belt. Whether you are after a bottle of coveted Silver Label Single Malt or Multi-award winning Iowa Bourbon Whiskey, Cedar Ridge whiskey will be your drink for celebrations, rough days, and any day in between.

We know that many people think of Iowa as just having corn – we’re perfectly fine with that. That means that we have the benefit of having the best product to make the best bourbon– Iowa Corn. Fine craftsmanship is a true reflection of Iowa’s mentality, where we do the best with what nature gives us, while maintaining minimal waste. The best corn and grains come from the most fertile soil found right here in America’s Grain Belt.
