la Madeleine adds new Seasonal Menu and Helps Children in Need

la Madeleine adds Mediterranean Inspired Dishes to Menu & Helps Children’s Hunger Fund

Enjoy the season’s freshest ingredients from France’s southern region on the Mediterranean Sea with maison-made dishes from la Madeleine. These flavors from the south of France bring hearty, robust and savory to the newest additions on their already delicious menu. It’s Mediterranean ingredients like vine-ripened tomatoes, olives, artichokes and rich vegetable grown in the warm sun that makes these new menu options so good. The addition of fresh tzatziki, a salted strained yogurt mixed with cucumbers, garlic, salt, olive oil, lemon juice and fresh herbs, give everything a fresh, lively flavor.

Start the meal with a cup of Provencal Vegetable Soup rich with potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, tomatoes, zucchini and yellow squash. Having been simmered in a vegetable pesto broth, this will get you ready for another course without filling you up. This choice is Gluten-free and only 60 calories.

The Mediterranean Salade goes great either alone or with a cup of the Provencal Vegetable soup. Filled with France’s southern bounty like grape tomatoes, cucumbers, olives, artichokes, green onions & crisp romaine and balsamic-marinated chicken strips, it’s more of a full meal than a meal starter. It comes topped in a creamy tzatziki sauce and feta cheese crumbles.

The Provencal Chicken and Rice Bowl entree has a warm, earthy taste. Here the balsamic-marinated chicken along with tomatoes, artichokes, olives and basil pesto are baked in parchment until done allowing the flavors to mingle. All this is then placed on a bed of herb flavored rice. This hearty country dish is then topped with creamy tzatziki sauce and feta cheese.

Also on the Mediterranean menu is the Mediterranean Chicken & Feta Sandwich. Served on a toasted la Madeleine fresh French baguette spread with roasted red pepper hummus is balsamic-marinated chicken, feta cheese, Roma tomatoes, lettuce and creamy tzatziki sauce. This whole sandwich comes with a choice of side; Caesar Salade, tomato Basil Pesto Pasta Salade or Salt & Pepper Chips. A favorite of mine for lunch!

Of course all these dishes can be complemented with a glass or rose wine. After all, wine is the classic accompaniment to every summer meal in the south of France. Wine is available every day at La Madeleine.

You can’t leave la Madeleine without having one of their scrumptious desserts. And because the south of France is also known for their lemon harvest, la Madeleine is featuring several sweets made from zesty lemons. Be sure to sample some Lemon Cream Cake, Lemon White Chocolate Chunk Cookies, Lemon Tarts or their namesake Lemon Madeleines. If you are too full after your meal, you can get some to go. These desserts are all handmade daily, so you don’t want to skip them!
