SOUTHERLEIGH CELEBRATES 2ND ANNIVERSARY AND PARTNERS WITH TALK ABOUT IT! SA
WHAT: Southerleigh celebrates 2nd Anniversary by partnering with Talk About It! SA, the Animal No-Kill program of the San Antonio Area Foundation, to host its first ‘Growls and Growlers’ event on Saturday, April 1, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Local animal rescue and pet resource organizations will have about 50 dogs for adoption and informational pet care advice at Southerleigh Fine Food and Brewery. Guests can enjoy the day with furry friends and cheerfully add a new member to their families.
Local organizations participating include San Antonio Pets Alive!, San Antonio Humane Society, Alamo City Pit Bull Rescue and Rehabilitation, Animal Defense League, Missy’s Haven, Kriser’s Natural Pet, Pawderosa Ranch, and SpaySA.
This event is free and open to the public. Adoption regulations/fees will apply per organization.
SPECIALS: As Southerleigh Celebrates 2nd anniversary they will offer specials including pints for $5, 32 oz beer growlers for $8, and 64 oz beer growlers for $14. Southerleigh will donate 20 percent of proceeds to all participating nonprofit pet organizations. To celebrate its 2nd Anniversary, Southerleigh’s beer specials will be offered all day long.
As Southerleigh Celebrates 2nd anniversary, Pawderosa Ranch will provide complimentary gift cards to anyone who adopts during the event.

Southerleigh Fine Food & Brewery, helmed by San Antonio Chef Jeff Balfour, brings a modern take on Texas’ cross-cultural cuisine to Pearl. Talk About It! SA is the Animal No-Kill program of the San Antonio Area Foundation. Prior to 2006, San Antonio had the third highest euthanasia rate of pets per capita in the country, with 50,000 animals euthanized annually. In 2007, a bold effort was launched for San Antonio to become a No-Kill city for dogs and cats. The live release rate has since increased from 11 percent in 2006 to 91 percent in 2016.
