Red Bull Flying Bach Tour Includes San Antonio January 18, 2017

The Red Bull Flying Bach 2016‐2017 USA tour has announced the dates for its full USA tour, including a performance at San Antonio’s Aztec Theatre on January 18, 2017. After debuting to rave reviews in San Francisco at the iconic Masonic Theatre, the performance’s unique fusion of classical music and professional break dancing garnered national recognition and captured the attention of fans from across the country. From the brilliant minds of Artistic Directors Vartan Bassil and Christoph Hagel, attendees will experience break dancing accompanied by an adaptation of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “The Well-Tempered Clavier.” This unique combination of music and visuals demonstrates that the electrifying performance is a genius blend of high society and urban culture. Tickets to the nationwide phenomenon are expected to sell out quickly.

After the 2010 premiere in Berlin’s Neue Nationalgalerie and following the sold out German tour, Red Bull Flying Bach brought their success to the rest of the world. More than 400,000 spectators in 31 different countries have experienced Swedish ballerina Anna Holmström and the Flying Steps in a spectacular performance that is equal parts urban culture, ballet, and theater. Flying Bach is a clash of cultures where classical music meets break dance. Flying Steps Founder Vartan Bassil came up with the idea of combining these two elements, he partnered with Conductor Christoph Hagel and Red Bull Flying Bach was born. ABOUT FLYING STEPS

Germany’s Flying Steps are a four time break dance world champion and award winning dance team which was founded in 1993 by Vartan Bassil. As of today more than 35 professional dancers are part of the Flying Steps crew. The company not only creates and produces international dance shows, but in 2007 they also founded their own Flying Steps Academy. With its 32 teachers it is now the biggest urban dance school in Germany.
