Pollo Tropical Launches Recipes, Quiz, and New Chicken Avocado Club LTO

Pollo Tropical launches several exciting new things for the new year including six bean recipes, the new Chicken Avocado Club LTO and a new personality quiz on Jan. 11 which not only tells visitors their TropiChop persona, but also offers a $1-off coupon.

Now through the end of February at Pollo Tropical, guests can enjoy the Chicken Avocado Club in several dishes:

  • Wrap and Salad: Marinated, grilled chicken, melted Swiss cheese, ripe tomatoes, crispy crumbled bacon, avocado and a creamy cilantro garlic sauce – all on a pressed flatbread or on a bed of romaine.
  • TropiChop: Choice of rice, layer on our signature black beans and then top it off with marinated, grilled chicken, ripe tomatoes, crispy crumbled bacon, and avocado.

Black Bean Dip

Blend Pollo Tropical black beans and cream cheese in a food processor. Transfer into a serving bowl and mix in additional whole beans, diced onions, cumin and cayenne. Serve with tortilla chips.

Black Bean Chili

Sauté diced onion, tomatoes and bell pepper, corn and jalapeno for a little kick. Add Pollo Tropical black beans and a broth of your choice, and season with chili powder, salt and pepper. Top it all off with a sprinkle of Mexican cheese and a dollop of Pollo Tropical’s Cilantro Garlic sauce.

Black Bean Soup

Heat vegetable broth and Pollo Tropical black beans on the stove in a large pot. Sauté your favorite veggies and stir them into the soup along with garlic, salt and pepper.

Black Bean Hummus

Blend together Pollo Tropical black beans, lemon juice, tahini, salt and pepper.  Grab your favorite chips or crackers and serve. Pick up some of Pollo Tropical’s Curry Mustard sauce if feeling adventurous.

Black Bean and Cheese Quesadilla

Heat a flour or corn tortilla sprinkled with cheese and strained Pollo Tropical black beans over medium-high heat. Once the cheese has melted, fold the quesadilla in half for the perfect serving size. Pick up a side of Pollo Tropical salsa for dipping.

Black Bean salad

Mix strained Pollo Tropical black beans, corn, diced onion, red and green bell pepper and cilantro in a bowl. Stir in a dressing of lime juice, olive oil, garlic powder salt and pepper and serve with corn or tortilla chips.

POLLO TROPICAL LAUNCHES BE BOWL’D MICROSITE

 Pollo Tropical’s new Be Bowl’d microsite, launching Wednesday, Jan. 11, allows guests to virtually build their favorite TropiChop bowl and discover their corresponding TropiChop personality based on the character traits each ingredient represents.

The TropiChop bowl is a classic at Pollo Tropical and one of its most customizable dishes, offering a multitude of protein and veggie combinations for any palate or diet. Guests can build a bowl to their liking with the choice of rice or romaine lettuce as the base, then add on proteins such as the famous citrus-marinated, flame-grilled chicken, slow-roasted Mojo pork or savory Calypso beef and toppings like black beans, chopped fresh tomatoes, corn, sautéed onions and peppers. A visit to Pollo Tropical’s famous Saucing Island® gives even more flavor options with 10 zesty tropical signature sauces like cilantro garlic, curry mustard, guava BBQ and spicy Poyo-Poyo.

Site visitors will receive a $1 coupon to try their online bowl creations at their nearest Pollo Tropical. The site will also give the option to share the persona outcome to social media.

Each week the site is live, participants using the hashtag #BeBowld when sharing their TropiChop persona or a photo of a TropiChop bowl to Facebook or Twitter, will be entered to win prizes like a Be Bowl’d custom t-shirt or free chicken for a year.
