Holiday Magic Festival of Lights Provides San Antonio with a Holiday Season to Remember

The festival will run from December 1, 2016 – January 8, 2017, from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. daily, including holidays.

Holiday Magic Festival of Lights is an East Meets West festival of tradition and the first of its kind and magnitude in San Antonio, featuring a multicultural celebration of the holidays. In addition to the immaculate illuminated displays, the event will include music and dance performances from both China and the U.S., Christmas attractions, a carnival, a shopping exhibition, live music, art and culture experiential exhibits, and an international street foods festival, with all types of food and drink to enjoy.
The lanterns on display at Festival of Lights will range from 30’ tall and 50’ long dragons and Chinese pagodas to under the sea adventures and magic carpet rides to Santa’s Village and toy land. The glistening 36’ tall Christmas tree will be trimmed for all to see with a tree-lighting ceremony held nightly, including pyrotechnics, music, and entertainment.
Santa Claus will be at the festival nightly through December 24th for pictures and Christmas greetings. The festival will also include a snowfall experience for children of all ages. There will be real snow with a special snowfall experience at the festival. Live reindeer grace the festival with their presence on December 8th, 11th, and 15th.
Tickets for the Holiday Magic Festival of Lights are $21 for children ages 4-12, and $26 for adults. Children 3 and under are free. Admission includes live music, entrance to the carnival including the rides, entrance to the shopping expo, fireworks, the Christmas tree ceremony, Santa Claus, the showcase of Chinese lanterns, the Chinese acrobats, and access to all the good times.
In alignment with the Festival of Lights, Event Show Management Foundation, the non-profit arm of Event Show Management, will be awarding scholarships to high school seniors seeking to pursue projects that inspire cultural diversity. Ten $1,000 scholarships will be awarded. Event Show Management aims to bring multi-cultural events to the San Antonio community and wants to support and encourage youth to do the same to positively impact our city.
