Chrysler Pacifica Shows off Beautifully Against it’s Competitors
Families across America should be excited to find out Chrysler has brought back the minivan in a sleek and stylish package. The exterior is almost a little sexy with all its curves. In fact, it looks a lot more like an SUV. Even with its sliding passenger doors, which you can’t tell are sliding doors by looking at them as the tracks are tucked away from view under the rear window, this minivan is smooth and good looking. Soccer moms will be happy to show up to practice with this minivan and dads won’t mind the Saturday morning run to the home fix-it store either. This minivan is definitely not your mama’s bulky Town & Country. Just looking at it and all of its features will make you want to take it on a road trip. And the sleek look also makes it more aerodynamic which gives it pretty good gas mileage (22 MPG average) for a minivan, especially when it’s loaded down for a road trip.
See the sliding doors and roominess:
The style and sleekness carries through to the inside. This vehicle looks very plush with all its upscale features Chrysler added to the Pacifica. And getting inside is easy even with full hands thanks to the foot-operated tailgate as well as the power sliding passenger doors. The leather seats are luxurious as well as comfy on the tush in all three rows and the fold away arm rests in the driver, passenger and second row bucket seats are a nice feel. Driver, passenger and second row seats all have both heated and ventilated seats for comfort in any climate. Tech addicted kids will love that there are 11 power sources including 8 UBS ports. Now that’s staying connected! Everything hints of a minivan that has been brought up to a grand level.
And the roominess inside is very apparent given everyone has their own space. With big windows all around and the Tri-Pane Panoramic Sunroof this van has great visibility all the way around. In fact, it has a better visibility than any auto I have driven. Storage is a big deal in this minivan too. There are storage cubbyholes everywhere (a place for everything and everything in its place) so there should be no need to have anything rolling around in the vehicle.

Since this is a family hauling van, safety should be key so Chrysler has added tons of safety features. Besides safety airbags all around, other features worth noting are the LATCH ready child seat anchor system, rear view back-up camera, blind spot and cross path detection, ParkSense front & rear park assist with Stop, Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist with Stop, 360-degree surround View Camera System, and Adative Cruise Control with Stop & Go. Then you also have the Lane Departure Warning Plus and the Full-Speed Forward-collision Warning Plus helping you. This vehicle has so much advanced safety technology I’m starting to think it pretty much does most of the thinking for us. The Pacifica hasn’t been safety rated yet but it is sure to get high marks when it does.
A new feature for me was the transmission box. I kept reaching for a stick shift but instead all you do is turn a knob. You just shift the 9 speed transmission by dialing it in. This transmission box seems to have lost a little of the sporty stick shift pizzazz but it was easy to work and it made smooth transitions between gears. Placement was on the console below the navigation and radio which took some getting used to. However taking the shift leaver out left more room for storage space.
One of my absolute favorite things about the Pacifica is the way you can easily change from people carrier to cargo carrying behemoth in a matter of seconds. The driver seat stow assist switch moves the seat forward making it easy to tuck away the second row Stow’n Go seats. Even kids can easily maneuver the folding down seats. And using the buttons located in the side panel of the cargo lets you completely stow the 3rd row seats into the floor. You have the option of doing the left side seat, the right side seat or both for maximum cargo hauling capability. The side panel buttons also let you position the seats for sitting or snoozing comfort. All without lifting a finger. Just use the finger to push a button. For this option alone the Pacifica is a great buy!

The Chrysler Pacifica is a comfortable, quiet drive with easy maneuverability that makes a great family car or cargo hauler with a stylish look that makes you proud to drive.
