Fine Dining at Ruth’s with Classic French Vodka

Fine Dining at Ruth’s Chris with Grey Goose was a Spirited Evening

This fine dining pairing at Ruth’s Chris Steak House featuring Grey Goose Vodka was truly a special event. The dinner is part of a wine/cocktail dinner series which Ruth’s Chris is hosting throughout the year. Ruth’s Chris is known for some serious steaks but they are also becoming known for the dinner pairings. Knowing that the perfect dinner is complemented by only the best spirits and wines, Ruth’s Chris selects only top wines and spirits for each event. At any spirited event, each premium handcrafted cocktail is designed by their mixologist to enhance each dish on the menu. At their wine events, the Ruth’s Chris chefs create each dish to pair exquisitely with each wine. You are always assured that each dinner pairing comes together to harmonize the tastes and flavors of both food and drink.

Grey Goose is a classic French Vodka created by Francois Thibault, a cognac cellar master. Using only two ingredients, the purest water from the cognac region of France and the highest-grade winter wheat grown in northern France, this vodka is the simplest form of quality. And with this quality comes exceptional smoothness.

First course this fine dining evening was a delightful Smoked Duck Breast Salad artfully plated with Black Mission figs, apricots and micro-greens topped with a zesty St. Germain vinaigrette. Paired with the Le Grand Fizz of Grey Goose vodka, St. Germain Elderflower liqueur with lime juice and chilled soda water, the duck breast reigned supreme.

Second course was a Dry Chili Rubbed Salmon in a Vermouth Tarragon Beurre Blanc over baked fennel. (This was my favorite dish of this fine dining evening.) This item was so flavorful and exquisitely prepared, I couldn’t put my fork down. Looks like I may not go home with leftovers. The pairing for the salmon was a Pear & Cardamom Collins. Presented in a wine glass with a wafer thin slice of pear, this cocktail was light and refreshing. Grey Goose La Poire vodka, cardamom syrup and lime juice is the recipe for this perfect summer cocktail.

Next came a chicken breast stuffed with mixed fruit and thyme topped with natural jus with fresh ginger. Scallion roasted fingerling potatoes accompanied the chicken. What a beautiful dish for the upcoming fall season. The Le Melon Mule made with Grey Goose Melon vodka, Ginger Beer and a spritz of fresh lime followed through with the sweet and spiciness of its paired dish.

The fourth course was none other than the Ruth’s Chris signature Filet Mignon topped with roasted Parmesan Cauliflower magnifying this delicious steak even more, if that’s possible. Of course this was paired with Ruth’s Dirty Goose Martini made with Grey Goose vodka, Noilly Prat Original French Dry Vermouth and olive juice. This cocktail was finished with colossal olives hand-stuffed with bleu cheese served on a Grey Goose signature silver keepsake pick. Nice presentation!

There were sides of Fire Roasted Corn and Chevre and Bleu Cheese Mac and Cheese to go along with the Filet.

Fifth course, and thank goodness the last, was a Mini Chocolate Almond Cake topped with a light chocolate frosting and served with house-made dark chocolate almond bark. Chocolaty, rich and just the right amount to finish off this delightful meal. Paired with something better than coffee, the Francis’ Coffee Cocktail, this dessert drink was a blend of Grey Goose Cherry Noir vodka shaken with fresh chilled coffee, Kahlua, Crème de Cacao and almond. So many great flavors coming together to compliment the cake and top off a wonderful dinner.
