The Santikos Legacy Lives on with the Casa Blanca Theatre in Alamo Ranch
The Santikos Legacy lives on with Santikos Entertainment’s newest location in Alamo Ranch. The Casa Blanca theater is their greatest technological wonder to date. Housing the first 100% laser projection multiplex movie theatre in the world, this movie theatre is slated to be a game changer in the cinema industry. With the best picture clarity, color saturation and brighter images, guests will experience the best movie viewing available anywhere.
Couple this with a sound system on steroids and the two biggest screens in Texas (90 ft. wide) movie goers will have the most ultimate movie experience ever. And I really liked the luxurious recliner seating. Be sure to take an alarm clock to wake you up at the end of the movie.
The Casa Blanca complex features four auditoriums offering full service food and drink service at your seat with call buttons to get your wait person to bring you more fresh pizza or another glass of wine while you sit back and enjoy the show. You will find six theatres with recliner seating, the rest all have over-sized seating. They have a 16 lane bowling alley, sports bar, cafe, arcades with the latest games and upscale food choices including a wood-fired pizza oven and a galeto bar. In fact, on weekends they will be offering special gourmet menus like prime rib or pork loin with roasted potatoes and asparagus in small quantities.
Other theatre features:
- Mommie Matinees every Wednesday at 11am (Enjoy a chick flick or action thriller without getting a babysitter.)*
- Free Summer Movies Tues & Weds at 10am
- Bowling lanes by the hour (5 or 10 frame games)
- Birthday parties (or other celebrations) in private party room
- Mikey’s Place (1st Saturday of every month at 11am) Free admission screening for guests with intellectual special needs. Brighter lighting, lower sound, shorter previews and accepting environment.*
- Automated ticket service both online and at the theatre
- Reserved seating
- State-of-the-Art movie going experience on 16 screens
The Santikos Legacy Lives On
The best part of the opening of this theatre isn’t the state-of-the-art technology or the awe-inspiring range of activities for guests of all ages. The biggest thing about the opening of the Casa Blanca theater is extending the charitable legacy of the late John L. Santikos to the west side of San Antonio, the Santikos Legacy.
Santikos Entertainment, a group of premier entertainment venues in San Antonio and Houston, is the only theater group in the world and only one of a handful of businesses in America that operates as a social enterprise for the sole benefit of the community, the Santikos Legacy.
The net result of dollars spent on movie tickets and amenities at any Santikos theatre funnels back into the local community in the form of donations, sponsorships, grants and programming that educate, cure, support, and enhance lives in our community, the Santikos Legacy. “You can see a movie anywhere, but every time you see a movie at a Santikos theatre, you become a vital part of our charitable legacy because all of the economic benefits associated with our operations are reinvested directly back into our community. Most companies support local charity programs as part of being a great corporate citizen, but we are the only theatre group that exists solely for the purpose of supporting our community” said David Holmes, CEO of Santikos Enterprises.
Through the operation of the theatres it is projected that $12 million will be gifted to nonprofits in 2016 through the John L. Santikos Charitable Foundation, a fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation. The fund is also estimated to generate $20 million a year for the community over the next 10 years.
The focus of these generous community donations includes people in need (seniors, special needs, victims of child abuse and disaster relief), youth and education, public libraries, parks and museums, arts and culture, as well as medicine, healthcare and medical research.
So be sure to take the kids to Casa Blanca (or any Santikos theatre) this summer. It’s a great way to get out of the Texas heat where you and the kids can be entertained all day in cool comfort. Watch a new release movie, bowl with the family and let the kids play the newest arcade games. And know that the net dollars of whatever monies you spend at Santikos goes right back into supporting the Santikos Legacy and your community
