Dallas’ Southern Belle invites guests to let the good times roll Feb. 9
Leave it to Ida Claire, the consummate Southern hostess, to serve up a Mardi Gras feast that would make any Cajun scream, “Laissez les bons temps rouler!”
Indeed, the good times will be rolling on Fat Tuesday, Feb. 9, when Ida Claire offers a Mardi Gras Menu highlighting several dishes true to her Southern roots:
Creole Gumbo – a spicy combination of chicken, Andouille and basmati rice ($6)
Crawfish Corn Beignets – served with smoked mustard remoulade ($8)
Shrimp & Grits – Texas prawns, lardons, gristmill parmesan grits and sauce piquant ($17)
Of course, it wouldn’t be Fat Tuesday without festive cocktails, so you’d better believe Ida Claire will be serving up her hand-crafted Hurricanes ($8) and Hurricane Punch ($24, for 4-5 people). Every guest who orders a Hurricane drink will receive a Mardi Gras feather mask.
Guests will also be encouraged to post photos on Facebook and Instagram with their masks, using a special hashtag for a chance to win a $50 Ida Claire gift card.
The party begins at 11 a.m., and it won’t be over till Ida says it’s over.
