Mazda’s 2016 CX-5 – Sporty Looking, Peppy and Fuel Efficient
This SUV is sporty, fuel efficient and is pretty peppy as well as having some great features Mazda is known for. With overall fuel economy of 29 MPG and its 184-hp you will want to be taking this baby out on the highway. The 2016 CX-5 turns a lot of heads when you roll past (I was driving the Soul Red Metallic which drew many favorable comments) and when friends see the interior, they will be equally impressed. Mazda’s leather trimmed sport seats and leather wrapped steering wheel are standard features in the CX-5. So are the 8-way power driver seat with lumbar support, electronic parking brake, dual zone auto climate control, heated front seats and power moon roof. Not bad for this 5 seater. You can also make it a 4 seater with the fold down rear sear armrest.
And the color touch screen display, rear camera, Bluetooth hands free phone, Bose sound system along with HD radio make your trips, even if just to work or grocery shopping, more fun.
Blind spot monitoring, air bags & curtains all around and rear cross traffic alert system are my favorite safety features. And there are so many more included as standard equipment.
The model I drove had some added optional features which I loved and you might want to consider if looking to purchase the CX-5. The rear parking sensor is a must. And I like the retractable cargo cover which helps keep packages and other cargo hidden from view. Also the GT activsense package which offers things like smart brake support while using cruise control, lane departure warning and high beam control is pretty sweet. Heck, you hardly have to do anything yourself in this car.
I think this car is a perfect fit for anyone wanting an SUV with some cargo space for light hauling and don’t need a lot of passenger space.
For me it made a perfect mobile office; fuel efficient for running all over the city, easy to park just about anywhere and enough space to pick up packages and groceries for my next review. And I have no worries about being stranded out there with Mazda’s 24- hour roadside assistance as a standard feature!
My little love even seemed to like his trip to the Vet as long as the moon roof was open.
This car handles great and is fun to drive! Maybe just the thing for a Valentine gift to yourself or someone you love!
**Full Disclosure: I was invited to drive the Mazda CX-5 for a week in exchange for my review. All opinions are 100% mine.
