Sexy Mid-size Sedan with a Sporty Look and Feel
I was impressed by the look and handling of this mid-size car. Both the exterior and interior of the Mazda6i have the look and feel of a luxury car. The sleek, sporty lines of the Mazda6i turned heads as I drove to appointments around the city and I got stopped by one person who wanted to know the model of the car. But the head turning doesn’t stop on the outside. Inside the Mazda6i has a pretty awesome interior. The interior color of this particular car was the parchment leather with black accents which definitely had a sporty appearance. The bucket seats and center console with the navigation front and center along with the design of the dashboard carried the sporty design all the way through. Although this vehicle has an automatic transmission (a turn-off for many sport & touring car fans) it did have a sport mode on the stick shift allowing the driver to switch into a manual downshift, giving it the feel of a manual transmission.
The inside was surprisingly roomy both front and back for a mid-size car. With the 8-way power drivers seat I was able to get in and out without bumping my knees on the steering wheel, a nice plus. And the seat memory kept it where I wanted without having to readjust each time I got in. There was also ample cargo room and the rear seats folded down for even more room if need be.
There are many interior standard feature in the Mazda6i which also give this mid-size a luxury car feel, like the heated front seats, Driver seat lumbar support, 6-way power front passenger seat (not usually found in other vehicles in this price range) rear view camera, leather wrapped steering wheel, Bose 11-speaker sound system and electronic parking brake. Whew, that’s a lot of great stuff and that’s not even all of it!
This i6 also came with the optional GT Technology package which includes; the i-ELOOP regenerative-braking system, lane departure warning system, smart break support, active grille shutters and more. Some pretty nice features for safety. It also has many standard safety & security features including my favorite, the blind spot monitoring system, to round out the Mazda6i beauty.
All-in-all, this car is fun to drive with very responsive handling, good acceleration when needed for a 4-cylinder engine and a good braking system. For a sedan in its price range, I would say it’s a very good option, especially for someone looking for a sporty looking and performing car!
If you give the 2016 Mazda6i Grand Touring a test drive, I think you will want to put it on your holiday wish list!
