Jay Ducote Makes the Food Network Star’s Finalist Cut

Food Network Star’s 11th Season Premieres Sunday, June 7th and Jay Ducote Will Be There Showing Off His Culinary Skills

 

A food blogger friend of mine, Jay Ducote from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been chosen to be one of the finalists on season 11 of the Food Network: Food Network Star. I have followed Jay’s blog, bite & booze for several years and last year I had the pleasure of meeting Jay in person when he came to San Antonio for the Southeast Louisiana Gumbo Luncheon held at Ruth’s Chris.

Jay will be competing with 11 other finalists to get his own show on Food Network. He will be strutting his stuff and showing off his culinary talent for Bobby Flay, Giada De Laurentiis and all of us Food Network Star groupies. The premiere episode for this season is Sunday, June 7th at 8 PM Central.

If you happen to be in Baton Rouge on June 7th, Jay is throwing a viewing party at the Jolie Pearl Oyster Bar and spilling out into North Boulevard Town Square in downtown Baton Rouge from 5-9 PM that evening. Watch him cook up his signature dish for the judges and let’s cheer him on to the finish line!

FYI, if you love to grill and Barbecue, Jay has his own BBQ Sauce Jay D’s Louisiana Barbecue Sauce. Jay’s Barbecue Sauce maintains the South’s barbecue tradition while delivering a combination of flavors (Creole, Cajun and others) that can only be found in Louisiana.

A Little Something About Jay

Jay Ducote spends most of his time as a food and beverage writer, blogger, radio host, speaker, video producer, culinary personality, chef, and hugger. Residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and traveling as much as he can, Jay has been named one of the top 100 amateur chefs in America by FOX’s MasterChef, has appeared as himself on HBO’s drama series Treme, and has been featured on multiple programs such as Cutthroat Kitchen on the Food Network, Eat St. on the Cooking Channel, and Last Call Food Brawl on Destination America. The Bite and Booze Radio Show, produced and hosted by Ducote, won a Taste Award for best food or drink radio broadcast in the country in January 2014. He has also been named to the Baton Rouge Business Report’s Forty Under 40 and has competed in, won, and judged numerous cooking competitions locally and across the country. Jay is currently working on a book that will be published by LSU Press.
