MAY 31st is National Macaroon Day!

You Must Celebrate National Macaroon Day with These Amazingly Delicious Coconut Macaroons!

Klara’s Gourmet Cookies Named Finalist for sofi™ Award
Winners to be announced at Summer Fancy Food Show

**Full Disclosure: I received product in exchange for my review.  All opinions are mine.

I can certainly see why Klara’s Coconut Macaroons are up for the sofi™ Award and once you try them, you will see why also. I don’t know what her competition tastes like, but they better be good at their game because Klara has a sure winner here. Moist yet a little crispy on the outside with a sweet burst of coconut makes this cookie a winner! You really better get your hands (and mouths) on these Coconut Macaroons cause they are the best I have ever tasted. And the few people I let try one of my stash agreed hands down!
Not to say that her shortbread cookies are anything to walk away from cause the ones I got to try are all great in their own category. They are all crisp, buttery deliciousness in each bite with added flavors like; ginger, lemon poppy  and chocolate sea salt. I say Klara was right in saving her family cookie recipes. Apparently people from the Czech Republic know a thing or two about baking.

Klara’s Gourmet Cookies has been named a Finalist, thanks to her Coconut Macaroons,  in the “Outstanding Cookie’ category in the Specialty Food Association’s 2014 sofi™ Award competition. So this gives you an even bigger reason to enjoy her Coconut Macaroons, a prized cookie in Klara’s home growing up, on National Macaroon Day.

“It is truly an honor that my family recipe is being recognized in such a way.” Says Klara Sotonova” Each cookie is truly made with love and we are excited about this recognition as we continue to share with the world the treats that have given my family so much joy for generations”.

Becoming a finalist in the “Outstanding Cookie” category should come as no surprise when you know that Klara Sotonova, owner of Klara’s Gourmet Cookies, had a heartfelt desire to own her own cookie business while living in the Czech Republic. Klara emigrated to the United States at 19 with determination, her rich Czech baking traditions and recipes passed down from her grandmother and great grandmother.

Each of her delicious cookies is seeped in tradition and rich goodness. Take her coconut macaroons for instance. These all natural and gluten free chewy morsels were a favorite of Klars’s grandmother during the Christmas holidays. So cherished were they that she would never share these with friends, but would hide them just for the family. The coconut macaroons come in two flavors, vanilla and chocolate.

Other cookies in Klara’s shop include her great grandmother’s old world Shortbread cookies in new world flavors like; Lemon Poppy Seed, Ginger Shortbread or Maple Cranberry. And she also makes the European classics; Linzer Cookies – Lemon with Apricot Jam and Chocolate with Raspberry Jam, and Vanilla Walnut Crescents.

Any of Klars’s cookie is like biting off a little bit of heaven. Klara has figured out the perfect recipes for her delightful cookies and each bite will have you begging for another. I was very impressed with the taste, texture and even the packaging of all her cookies. For information visit:
