As Saint Patrick’s Day is just around the corner I wanted to share a fun and festive green smoothie recipe to celebrate St. Patty’s Day this year. Green smoothies are all the rage these days, and even more popular is the use of superfoods like flax and chia seeds in smoothies, cooking, baking, and even as an egg replacer. This delicious Spinach, Kiwi & Chia Seed Smoothie is packed with the health benefits of flax and chia. It is thick and sweet thanks to the bananas while the kiwi, apple and lemon add a hint of tartness.

 

Spinach, Kiwi & Chia Seed Smoothie

2 cups almond milk, cold

1 1/2 cups packed baby spinach leaves

1 banana, cut into chunks and frozen

1 ripe kiwi, peeled, cut into chunks

1/2 any apple, chopped and not cored/seeded/peeled

1/2 lemon, juice of

2 tbsp Carrington Farms Flax-Chia Blend

Directions

In a blender, combine all ingredients and blend until smooth.
